Two $500 B.S. Sodhi Memorial Bursaries Presented

For fall 2012, two $500 B.S. Sodhi Memorial Bursaries were presented at the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Faculty of Agriculture’s Scholarship Banquet. Mrs. Dashan Sodhi, wife of the late B.S. Sodhi, and daughter Angie are shown with recipients, Palaniappan Ramanathan, India; and Pramod Kumar Rathor, India, both 2nd year Bachelor of Technology Environmental Landscape Horticulture students The bursaries are awarded annually to students paying international student fees.

мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Faculty of Agriculture Athletic Bursaries Presented

Several $500 мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Faculty of Agriculture Athletic Bursaries were presented at the recent Scholarship Banquet. The awards are presented to returning student athletes and further selection criteria include financial need, involvement in/member of a university varsity team, recommendation from a coach and satisfactory academic performance. Aquaculture student; Steven MacQuarrie, Truro, NS, a 2nd year Engineering student; and Ms. Smith.

Other students receiving Athletic Bursaries but absent at time of photo were Leah Cook, Bridgewater, NS, a 2nd year B.Sc.(Agr.) Pre Vet student; William Hannah, New Germany, NS, a 3rd year B.Sc.(Agr.) Animal Science student; and Christopher Ross, Harmony, NS, a 2nd year Engineering student.

Nova Scotia Egg Producers Association Scholarships

Two $1,500 scholarships are awarded annually by the Nova Scotia Egg Producers Association to students enrolled in the Animal Science major of the B.Sc.(Agr.) program at the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Faculty of Agriculture whose course and project work show an interest in poultry. Geneve Newcombe, representing the NS Egg Producers Association, is shown with the 2012 recipients – Emily Estabrooks, Harvey, NB; and Jaimee Eastabrook, Dartmouth, both 4th year B.Sc.(Agr.) Animal Science students.
