Would you like to win a 50,000 prize to fund research that impacts active health of North Americans?
The Bloomberg Manulife Prize for the Promotion of Active Health, valued at $50,000 CAD, is offered each year by McGill University to an academic whose research has contributed to understanding how factors such as physical activity, nutrition, fitness or psychosocial context can influence personal health and well-being, and whose work could have a positive impact on behavior and lifestyle choices.
Recipients will receive the funding as a research grant to further enhance their work, and will have the opportunity to have their research promoted through McGill鈥檚 Bloomberg Manulife website, eDigest and social media channels that exist to support the prize. The recipient will be invited to participate in a series of moderated discussions in Toronto and at McGill University in Montreal. In addition, the winner will be invited to participate in media interviews to discuss his/her research and to meet with academics at McGill.
The application process is very simple, candidates must submit:
1. A resume that includes a publication list of peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters.
2. An impact statement (maximum 750 words) outlining the candidate鈥檚 research conducted within the past five years, indicating how it could enhance personal health and well-being, and the impact it could have on the prevention of illness, or the promotion of active health.
