Applying to be an Incoming (Bahamas to мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥) QES Scholar

QES Incoming Scholarships are available for graduate students currently enrolled at the University of the Bahamas.

Who can apply?

In order to be able to apply for the incoming QES Scholarship, you must:

  • Be a registered graduate student at the University of the Bahamas
  • Be a citizen of the Bahamas or or permanent resident
  • Be at least 19 years of age and under 35 years of age at the time of application
  • Have an interest and academic background in environment and/or sustainability (i.e. environmental science, architecture, sustainability, environmental engineering, biology, geography, and/or other related field)
  • Able to work independently, as part of a team, and be adaptable to a flexible schedule

Where are the placements?

All placements will take place on one of the three Halifax campuses that are situated in residential areas, within easy walking distance of downtown Halifax, or at the Agricultural campus an hour away from Halifax.

How many scholarships are available?

A total of 10 scholarships will be offered to Incoming QES students before Autumn 2023.

How long are the placements?

Placements are for one academic semester in total (approximately 4 months) and are available during Fall (September – December) or Winter (January – April) semesters.

How much funding is available?

Each Incoming Scholar will receive support for monthly living allowances while in Nova Scotia (a maximum of $1,450/month), health insurance, tuition fee coverage, book allowance (up to $300) and travel/visa costs (up to $1695).

How to apply?

Applications for incoming scholarships must be received at least 4 months in advance to the semester that the student wishes to attend мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥.
