2023 Rhodes Global Competition (2024 Scholarship)Ìý Ìý
In 2018, the Rhodes Trust announced the launch of two new which are tenable at the University of Oxford. Election to the scholarship is normally for two years but the scholarship may be held for one year only, depending on the degree program pursued by the scholar. A scholarship may be renewed, at the complete discretion of the Trustees, for a third and final year for those who were initially admitted to Oxford to pursue a doctoral degree.Ìý Scholars may follow their own course of study.
The (two available worldwide) is open to high-achieving international students in all Faculties who are NOT from these . The scholarship covers all university and college fees, a personal stipend, living/accomodation expenses, two economy class flights (one at the start of the scholarship and one at the end of the scholarship) to study at Oxford University.Ìý Ìý

Eligibility Criteria
- If you are not eligible to apply to any existing and you are not eligible to apply for inter-jurisdictional consideration, then you can apply for a Global Scholarship as long as you meet all of the Global Scholarships eligibility criteria and subject to institutional nomination. (Please review the criteria on the page to ensure you are applying for the most appropriate Rhodes Scholarship.)
- You must be aged 18-23 on 1 October 2024 (must have been born after 1 October 2000 and on or before 1 October 2006) OR for older candidates who completed their first undergraduate degree later than usual, must be under the age of 27 on 1 October 2024 (must have been born after 1 OctoberÌý 1997) AND you must have completed your first undergraduate degree on or after 1 October 2023.
- Have completed an undergraduate degree (normally a Bachelor's degree) by July 2025, and you must have an academic background and grade that, at a minimum, meets or exceed the specific entry requirements of .
- You must meet the University of Oxford's English language requirements.
The Rhodes Trust focuses on four criteria which are used in the selection of Scholars:
- Literary and scholastic achievements
- Energy to use one's talents to the full (as demonstrated by mastery in areas such as sports, music, debate, dance, theatre, and artistic pursuits, particularly where teamwork is involved)
- Truth, courage, devotion to duty, sympathy for and protection of the weak, kindliness, unselfishness and fellowship
- Moral force of character and instincts to lead, and to take an interest in one's fellow human beings
How to Apply through мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥
The process for candidates has two parts: an internal screening process by the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Rhodes Scholarship Internal Selection Committee and an external application submitted to the Rhodes Trust online.Ìý (Please see side bar on the right for deadlines.)
- Candidates are to email the following documents, in English, (preferably in one PDF) to Rhodes@dal.ca, including a full curriculum vitae, a personal statement, academic statement of study and unofficial transcripts (i.e. мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Academic Record is available on Dal Online) from all universities attended.
