Sheila Blair-Reid
Sheila Blair-Reid (BCOM ’86) joined the мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥ Office of Advancement in April 2016 as Director, Alumni Engagement (later Assistant Vice-President, Alumni and External Engagement). She is responsible for all alumni engagement and Advancement marketing & communications activities at the University, with a mandate to grow and strengthen our network of over 150,000 alumni from over 150 countries.
Sheila has a life-long association with мÓÆÂÁùºÏ²Ê¿ª½±Ö±²¥. Both her parents spent their careers at Dal – her father, Dr. Huntley Blair, as a professor of Biochemistry in the Faculty of Medicine and her mother, Ana Blair, as a secretary in a variety of departments.
Previously, she was the owner and publisher at Metro Guide Publishing, which she and her team built into Atlantic Canada’s largest magazine publishing house. After Metro Guide Publishing, Sheila formed Spring Business Solutions. As its principal consultant, she acted as a strategic thinking and planning coach, helping organizations to achieve their goals. She is a past Women of Excellence, Small Business of the Year, Tourism Service Provider and Ambassador Award recipient. Sheila helped form Destination Halifax and was on the advisory board of the Tourism Partnership.
She’s been a national and regional volunteer with the Kids Help Phone, a past board member for Feed Nova Scotia and the MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning, and currently serves on the board of Armbrae Academy.
